Promise To Self

Are you one to break promises? I’m usually great at delivering when I promise to others. Which I feel most people are, but it might be the promises to self that people have a hard time fulfilling. How can we get ourselves committed 100% to delivering this promise to our self?

It may help to have a network of support around you. An accountability partner could help. It is one that reminds you to hold to your promise. If you are in a relationship, your partner may be able to be that for you and likewise for your partner to you. You can also ask a friend, mentor, or a coach, but try to make sure it is someone that is willing to support you and is one that believes in you.

Also before making the commitment to the decision, is it one that you believe you can fulfill? What are the steps you will take to get there? If it is a goal that seems out of reach, then map out an action plan of steps that will take you from point A to point B.

It’s also good to have a progress indicator throughout the process, that lets you know if you are getting closer to your goals or further away from them. Set small goals for each step.

For example, your decision is to change careers.
Step 1. Decide on which career.
Step 2. Research the schooling/training options or if you already possess the proper credentials skip to Step 5.
Step 3. Commit to registering for the course of study.
Step 4. Attend the classes necessary to graduate or to become certified.
Step 5. Begin the search for the position you desire.
Step 6. Attend interviews.
Step 7. Enjoy the career of your dreams.

Also don’t forget to evaluate your options before making the complete decision. Is this decision beneficial to you, your growth, or whoever that is involved with this change?

Remember to always surround yourself with people that believe in you, the power of faith is strengthened when others support you. 🙂

Have a successful day being you!

One of the best things that a person could do is live their life with a higher purpose. On my journey I have discovered what my purpose is. That purpose is to help guide people on their path of life. Whether that be advising on finding a person's true calling, how to live with a positive attitude, or living life with a higher purpose. I feel that it is my duty to pass on the knowledge that I have learned and share it with the rest of the world so they too could use it to their benefit and whomever they come into contact with. I share every part of the journey from the path already traveled, to the current path I am on, to the road that lies ahead, I thrive on sharing it with you. We all have areas in our lives that may require some tinkering. Change doesn't happen overnight, but we can either address the problem or ignore it but it will never go away on its own. My intentions of sharing the insight I have to offer, comes from love, which I am honored to do so. Sharing is in our nature, when we are sharing, we feel at peace being our higher authentic self. I look forward to connecting with you! Jason Ratliff CPC
