Eliminate Bad Habits for Good

Everything we do is all a result of a habit. Some of us have good habits and some bad habits. Either of the two will move us in the direction we focus on.

So, if we have a bad habit, we can find ourselves continuously stuck with this habit and never progressing forward.

And, if we have a good habit, we can find ourselves progressing forward.

It’s the bad habits we need to eliminate if we want success in order to make our most extravagant dreams come true. Og Mandino was a master when it came to the how to “eliminate bad habits for good”. He started off his adult life with bad habits and never progressing forward. It wasn’t until he released and committed to getting rid of these habits when he began tasting success.

Here is what he did to eliminate bad habits for good. For every bad habit he had, he knew they were a result of his past. So he discovered that he had to replace these bad habits with good habits. The only thing is it didn’t happen overnight. In fact, he understood that it will take about 21 days to develop a habit.

Over the course of 21 days, he put his emphasis on the good habits and programming his mind. As time progressed, his bad habits began to be replaced.

For example, let’s say you have a bad habit of procrastination. What you need to do is program your mind to believe in taking action and staying in this state. You can do this two ways (which I learned has been very effective for me):

1. Create a positive affirmation like, “Procrastination no longer lives within me. Today I take action towards making all of my dreams come true. I am a constant doer, living my life. Nothing will stop me…”

2. Take action by planning. Plan out your day with consistent action that will move you to achieving your goals. So if your goal is to make 10 new friends in two months, then each day you need to make a commitment to talking with X number of people a day.

Both of these methods will help you once and for all eliminate bad habits for good. And, if you do these together, then your results will be even better.

  1. Good habits should be maintained because these will eventually result to great things. If you have bad habits that hamper with your work and your productivity you should find effective means of getting rid of them before things go from bad to worse…Elimination of bad habits is just like taking weeds out of a garden.

      They sure will and glad you mentioned that. It shows how simple it is but how rather most people are not willing to do it because it is simple.

      It doesn’t have to be that way.
